Splashwater Falls Deconstruction/ The Joker Construction Update #2

We are back with another look at the progress of The Joker: 4D Free Fly Coaster. The Joker is an S&S Free Spin coming to Six Flags New England in 2017. This coaster is replacing the parks Splashwater Falls attraction, which is a Whitewater West spinning raft ride. It was added in 2006 after being relocated from Six Flags Astroworld. Now on to the pictures. All credits to the following photos go to @WickedCoasters, who sent them to us. Be sure to check out his instagram by clicking the link at the bottom of this post.

Let's Take A Look Behind This Fence!

Here is an overview of the whole site. As you can see, Splashwater Falls has been completely removed, along with its station. Six Flags New England wasted no time taking this ride down.

Here you can see both the empty splash-pool and former station area. The station was completely torn down, but interestingly, the park carefully removed the water pumps.

Here is another view of what is left of the station. It seems as if the park will not be re-using any part of Splashwater Falls for The Joker.

The park has also torn up the queue line. I was assuming that the park would keep the same queue, but obviously it will not. Six Flags has not yet announced the theming elements for this ride, so I a, wondering if they might be building an indoor queue house. If they did this, it could combine the style of Batman at SFFT's queue, but add funhouse elements similar to Medusa at SFM.

Another picture showing what is left of the splash-pool/mini river.

This is a picture of the park removing the footers from Splashwater Falls.
We are all very excited for The Joker! We hope to have more updates as construction goes on! Be sure to check out Wicked Coasters on Instagram!
