The Incredible Hulk Coaster- Review

The Incredible Hulk Coaster is truly... Incredible. This one of a kind B&M Launch Coaster stands 110ft above the lagoon at Universal's Islands of Adventure. The ride originally opened with the park in 1999, but recently just reopened from a total rebuild. In this review, I will be going through different categories and rating the ride on a 1-10 scale..
Theming and Scenery
The Hulk is themed to a science experiment led by  General Thaddeus Ross. It explains that the volunteers (riders) will be exposed to Gamma radiation, and become a Hulk. The queue has some detailed physical sets and a really interesting CGI video. The launch tunnel is also enclosed inside of a Gamma Ray Gun of sorts, which looks really good from the outside. Also, every time a train launches, the roar of Hulk is played through a speaker outside the tunnel. The rides location over the lagoon does look amazing too!
Queue/Off Ride Theming: 8/10

The ride vehicles are typical B&M Sitdown trains, except they have really neat headlights. The ride itself does not have much on-ride theming. The trains are supposed to play an original audio score from Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, but unfortunately, the speakers cut out a lot and cannot be heard until the mid-course brake run. The launch sequence is also very underwhelming, especially when compared to the original.
On Ride Theming: 3/10
Trains
The Incredible Hulk Coaster uses the typical Eight Row B&M Sitdown trains. The trains utilize Over The Shoulder Restraints. The trains are painted green and have LED headlights on the front, which look very high tech and go perfectly with the theme of the ride. The trains also have on ride speakers for the audio played throughout the ride. Unfortunately, the audio cuts out more than Bizarro did at Six Flags New England, and doesn't really make any noise until the mid-course brake run. The trains do look great and provide a comfortable ride.
Trains: 7/10
Smoothness
The Incredible Hulk Coaster reopened in September after a complete rebuild. The ride is insanely smooth for such an intense coaster. Before the rebuild, the Hulk was getting quite rough. The ride does have some snappy elements, as do most Old School B&M coasters, which could cause a quick jerk to the side, but in no way is The Hulk a rough coaster.
Smoothness: 9/10
Speed/Launch
The Incredible Hulk Coaster launches guests 40mph on an inclined drive tire launch. This launch is very forceful! The ride itself gets up to a top speed of 67mph, and has great pacing throughout the layout. It is also a very forceful coaster! After the mid-course brake run, the pacing isn't as great, and it meanders around a little bit.
Speed/Launch: 8/10
Inversions
The Incredible Hulk Coaster has 7 inversions. These are a Zero G Roll, a Cobra Roll, Two Vertical Loops, and Two Corkscrews. My personal favorite inversion on this coaster is the Zero G Roll, which is located right after the launch. All of these inversions are snappy and forceful, making for some Incredible elements.
Inversions: 10/10
Unique Elements
The Unique Element on this coaster is its one of a kind launch system. It uses drive tires to propel the train to 40mph. It is a very forceful launch, and very unique. The Zero G Roll directly after the launch is also pretty unique, and one of the most incredible inversions that I've experienced.
Unique Elements: 9/10

In my opinion, The Incredible Hulk Coaster is the best coaster in Florida. It has a great launch, a great theme, some great elements, and it's smooth! If I could hear the on ride audio, and the ride still had its original launch sequence, it would be a solid 10/10.
Overall Score: 8/10

Thanks For Reading!
