Fun Spot Orlando: Q&A / Report

I visited Fun Spot Orlando on February 16th for the first time.  This park is home to a GCI wooden coaster, a Vekoma family invert, an S&S Screamin Swing, an Enterprise, a 250ft Skycoaster, and more!

White Lightning, the parks GCI coaster packs a punch! It utilizes Millennium Flyer trains for a smooth experience. It has multiple airtime hills, heavy banked turns, and great pacing! I think it's the best wooden coaster currently operating in Florida!

------------

Freedom Flyer is the parks Vekoma/Chance family invert. This was a solid family coaster. It features lap bar only restraints, which provide a free feeling. I tried the VR, but the headset wasn't synched and the straps weren't working, so I didn't get a good feel for the VR. This was a really fun ride, and I'm saying that about a Vekoma!

This is the second Skycoaster that I have ridden. The other was at Lake Compounce, which is 180ft tall, whereas this is 250ft tall. I consider this to be one of the most thrilling experiences in my life so far! The view atop of the ride was very cool at night! Check out an Off-Ride Video of my experience below!

Other Flat Rides

The park has a plethora of flat rides, both thrilling and suitable for families.
Fun Fact! The parks Enterprise formerly operated as Wheelie at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Overall, Fun Spot was a great value and a very clean park. I would recommend visiting this park!

Q&A

Can you tell me a little bit about Fun Spot America? We are a family owned theme park in the heart of the tourist capital of the world. Our owner John Arie Sr originally started in the business in 1969 and in the 1970’s opened some smaller parks, over time we grew into what we are today. We are 19 years young this June and continue to expand with a new roller coaster set to debut in June called the Mine Blower, only the second wooden coaster in the U.S. that inverts.

What makes Fun Spot different from the other parks in the area? Our free parking and free admission. You only pay if you ride. We pride ourselves on our guest engagement and the philosophy of creating memories for our guests.

Fun Spot is home to some classic flat rides, such as Enterprise and the Paratrooper. What made these rides appealing to the park? They just natural fit into what we were trying to create for our guests, safe-clean-fun for all families. They are very iconic and almost everyone has a memory to share when they first rode one of those rides. Love that Enterprise!

What type of unique attractions is Fun Spot home to? We have a few, first we are known for our track designs. We have four US patented designs that create a very unique experience for every rider. They start at ground level and rise up to four stories and interact with each other, we are very proud of our tracks and will not forget that we started as a little go kart track and were very blessed to grow as we have. We also currently have Orlando’s only VR coaster, Freedom Flyer and Orlando’s only wooden coaster, White Lightning. In June we will open the Mine Blower roller coaster, just the second wooden coaster to go inverted in the United States.

Thanks to David Hummer for answering my questions!

Fun Spot is a great family owned park, with great thrills and rides for everybody!
