Six Flags Over Texas- Special Park Review and Report

Back in April of 2016, I was fortunate enough to take a trip to Six Flags Over Texas, the original Six Flags park. I did not know what to expect going into this park, as the only other Six Flags parks I had been to were New England and Magic Mountain. What I did expect was to ride some amazing coasters, and boy did I ride. The day was perfect. Weather was great for the most part, and The Flash Pass system meant I could ride all day. The way I am going to do this review is describe and rate each ride, and provide a final review at the end!

TITAN- Titan is Six Flags Over Texas's Giovanola Hypercoaster. Growing up with Superman The Ride being located at my home park, I was a little bit underwhelmed. By no means is it a bad coaster, but I felt like it was missing airtime. I very much enjoyed the first turn and the twister section. While the mid-course brakes were very hard, I still enjoyed it. I wish the ride had theming. It seems like it was just plopped down. I will give Titan a score of 6/10

New Texas Giant- Wow! I loved this ride. NTG is the second Rocky Mountain Construction coaster that I have ridden, and I would say it is almost as good as Wicked Cyclone. The New Texas Giant was the first ever RMC Iron Horse retrack, and its layout looked pretty good, but not great. I was so surprised! My first ride was in the back seat, and I could not believe how insane this ride was! I continued to ride throughout the day, and just like Wicked Cyclone, this ride gets better and better! By the end of the day, after a little rain, the Gerstlauer made trains just FLEW through the ejector packed layout. This was by far my favorite coaster in the park. While the theming was not amazing, some elements such as the oil derrick did a good job connecting some of the ride to the Boomtown section of the park. This ride most definitely deserves a 10/10

Batman: The Ride- This is your typical Batman B&M Invert clone found at many parks around the world. I found it to be as forceful as the installation at Magic Mountain, but this one seemed slightly rougher. Good ride, but not amazing. 7/10

Mr.Freeze: Reverse Blast- I have been on multiple Premier Rides launched coasters such as both Mummys, Full Throttle, and Phobia. This ride was just as fun and intense as the others. I really enjoyed the backwards launch and the boost up the spike was nuts! I thought that the duel loading station was very innovative, and the queue and station had great theming! 8/10

Shockwave/ The New Revolution- Shockwave is a great ride! Extremely well made. It was my third Schwarzkopf coaster, and I think that it is the best one that I have ridden. It is a great length, height, and can be seen from the road. Without VR this ride will receive a score of  9/10
With VR, I thought it was interesting, but I do not think that it added much to the ride. I much prefer the Superman VR storyline. The VR score will be 6/10

Runaway Mountain- This was the final coaster I rode at Six Flags Over Texas. It was surprisingly intense. I really enjoyed this ride. It was a little jerky, but all-in-all it is a fun family coaster. 6/10

Texas SkyScreamer- I went in to this ride expecting it to be just like the New England SkyScreamer. It was pretty much what I expected. I definitely enjoyed the view on its New England counterpart more, but this is still a solid ride. 7/10

Superman: Tower of Power-  I was disappointed with this ride. It was by far the weakest S&S tower I have been on. But the theming was a nice touch. 4/10

Justice League: Battle For Metropolis- Much better than I expected. I cannot believe a Six Flags park has a dark ride this good! It was very immersive and had a great storyline! I really hope that SFNE gets one of these in the future. 10/10

Six Flags Over Texas is a solid park. I would say that it is on par with Six Flags New England! It had great theming throughout, some unique ride, and from what I experienced, good operations. If you are ever in the Arlington/ Dallas area, I would definitely recommend visiting this park! 8/10
