Exclusive Interview! With Jen McGrath

Jen McGrath, communications manager at Six Flags New England graciously agreed to answer some questions about Fright Fest, The Joker, and more! Big thanks to Jen and everyone at Six Flags New England!

Q.  Can you tell our viewers all about the new for 2017 roller coaster, The Joker?
     A. The Joker: 4D Free Fly Coaster features a massive and twisting track frame, in which ride vehicles begin their journey by traveling up a 120-foot elevator-type lift before being released for their highly unusual sensory journey – including two beyond-vertical free falls, in addition to four to eight head-over-heels flips. The Joker: 4D Free Fly Coaster is one of the most exciting thrill rides in the park’s history.
The unique construction of The Joker: 4D Free Fly Coaster features:

•       One-of-a-kind onboard magnetic technology featuring four to eight  smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips providing guests the feeling of weightlessness as they soar outside the confines of a traditional track;

•       A 4D wing coaster that seats up to eight and has riders “face their fears” by allowing them to physically face each other as they tumble head-over-heels;

•       A 120-foot tall hill that is ascended by an elevator-style lift straight up;

•       Two beyond 90-degree raven drops giving the sensation of free-falling; and

•       Five vehicles with eight passengers each.

Q.  What will set The Joker at Six Flags New England apart from other installations of the ride, such as Six Flags over Texas or Six Flags Great Adventure?
     A. While the coasters may be comparable in design, we have every intention in providing nuances with our theming, signage and other elements. At this point we have yet to share creative, so you will just have to stay tuned….

Q. This year the park re-introduced Superman. How did the decision come about to bring the Iconic hero back to Six Flags New England?
   A. Superman is the ultimate Superhero, and our park was very pleased to bring him back once again at the Coaster Capital of New England. Superman the Ride is one of the best steel coasters in the planet, and our guests were excited to see the new theming and design elements we added. There is nothing better than hearing the iconic Superman music while climbing the 208 foot lift hill. It is inspiring and a perfect way to showcase this mega attraction in our park.

Q.   Will Virtual Reality be returning to Superman: The Ride in 2017?
    A. Great question. Virtual Reality on Superman is for a limited time only, and will not be returning on Superman in 2017. As for what is next, you will just have to wait and see.

Q. Can you tell us about psycho- Path, the new Fright Fest attraction for 2016?
    A. Guests will experience walking through an abandoned Asylum in the all new PSYCHO-PATH coming to Six Flags New England in 2016. Guests will traverse in small groups through tight spaces, darken corridors and forgotten cells. The inmates of the Asylum have broken loose and will have guests screaming in sheer terror as they taunt and torture their newest victims. Dr. Shockmoore will proudly showcase his latest in deranged experiments as guests witness a lobotomy, shock treatment and isolation of his most insane and twisted patients. Will you escape or become Dr. Shockmoore’s latest experiment in his deranged and twisted plan?

Q. Is there anything else that you would like to tell the viewers of New England Coaster News?
   A. Thanks for allowing me to share the exciting news we have going on in 2017 and this year’s Fright Fest. Be sure to get your season pass now, as 2017 plans to be bigger and better than ever before.
