Full Throttle- Review

You Only Live Once. That is the theme to this Premier Rides triple-launch coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. Full Throttle opened in 2013 with the World's Tallest Vertical Loop, and a top speed of 70 mph. The ride stands 160 feet tall, with a track length of 2,200 feet. I will be breaking this coaster up into categories, rating each category with a score of 1-10, and then finish off by giving my overall thoughts about this ride.

  • Theming- Full Throttle does not have much theming. Its overall theme is YOLO, (you only live once). The queue line features a monitor showing videos of people doing high energy, and very cool things. The ride features no on-ride theming. 0/10
  • Trains- Full Throttle operates with two of Premier Rides standard launch coaster trains, each with three cars each, fitting 18 riders per train. While the trains are a little cramped, they provide a smooth ride experience, and feature lap bar restraints. The trains feature the rides logo on the front. 6/10
  • Inversions- Full Throttle features two inversions. The first is a vertical loop, while the other is a dive loop. Both are very nice inversions. The vertical loop provides amazing hangtime, while the dive loop provides a snappy experience. The inversions will be receiving an 8/10.

  • Smoothness- This coaster provides a very smooth rides. This is only exemplified with the lap-bar only restraints. There were no uncomfortable jolts or rattling when I rode, just a glass smooth experience. 10/10
  • Speed- Full Throttle has three launches. The first launch is 70 mph, which is the fastest on the coaster. The Backwards launch and third launch are also quite quick. The ride is over in a flash due to the speed and the short layout. The Speed Category will get a 9/10
  • Unique Elements- This coaster is the only coaster in the world to feature a Top Hat over a loop. This double sided track has you riding the loop twice, once inside and once outside. It is a very innovative and amazing element on the ride. 9/10

Full Throttle packs a huge punch in its short layout. The ride is intense, but not too intense, and also just really fun. My only issue with this ride is its length. I wish it did a little bit more after the top hat, but it is a very good attraction! My overall score for Full Throttle will be an 8/10
