Bizarro- Review

Bizarro is a B&M Floorless roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Bizarro opened in 1999, under the name of Medusa. When it opened, it was the World's First Floorless Coaster. In 2009, the ride was rethemed to Bizarro, along with Superman at Six Flags New England. During this transformation, new special effects were added such as audio, fog, fire, lights, and fly-throughs. The audio was removed in 2013. The ride stands 142 feet tall and contains a 132 foot drop.  The ride has a top speed of 61 mph. This is a great and forceful ride. I will be giving the ride a score of 1-10 for each categories, and finish off with my overall score and opinion of the ride.

  • Theming- Bizarro is themed to the DC comics villain, who shares the same name. The queue line features comic strip boards explaining the story of how Medusa became Bizarro. Throughout the ride, there are multiple fly-through and fly-over props. Also, the ride contains mist and fire. The ride is pretty well themed for Six Flags standards, but it sticks out like a sore thumb for being superhero themed in the parks Frontier Adventure area. 7/10

  • Trains- Bizarro runs with the typical B&M floorless trains, featuring 8 rows with 4 passengers each. The trains are very high capacity, and the ride runs three of them. I did not find anything special about the trains, but they were comfortable. 5/10

  • Inversions- Bizarro features seven intense inversions including a vertical loop, a dive loop, a cobra roll, a zero-g roll, and two corkscrews. These inversions are very fun. The Zero-G roll is taken at a great speed and the Cobra Roll is right over the rides entrance. Very exciting inversions are found on this ride. 9/10
  • Smoothness- This coaster was built by B&M, who are known for making very smooth rides. Bizarro is no different. Every element on this ride is extremely smooth, even the corkscrews. I experienced no rattle whatsoever in my front seat ride. Very smooth! 10/10

  • Speed- Bizarro has a top speed of mph. This ride flies through its layout. The inversions are taken at the perfect speed, and it just seems to have been designed to run perfectly. This ride is very intense, as are most B&M coasters built around this time, and provides a fun, speedy ride!

Bizarro is a great coaster. It is intense, has great inversions, and is very smooth. The layout packs a punch and sets the bar high for future floorless coasters. This coaster will be receiving an overall score of 8/10
