Untamed- Review

Untamed is a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter Coaster located at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. This is the only one of its kind in New England. This ride takes riders up 72 feet straight up, and down a 97 degree drop! Riders travel through three inversions and a helix during their 1,181 foot journey. Each category will receive a score 1/10, and at the end I will give my final opinion and score of the ride.

Theming and Scenery
Untamed is located in Big Bear Plaza, which is a wilderness-type theme. The station is reminiscent of a log cabin, and the ride has a green and grey color scheme. The station is very, very nice. The ride itself doesn't have any theming, but there is some pretty nice foliage in the area.
Theming and Scenery: 6/10

Inversions
Untamed has 3 inversions. These include a Vertical Loop, Immelmann Loop, and a Zero G Roll. The inversions are quite good, and really forceful! My favorite is probably the vertical loop! The loop is compact and really pushes you into your seat, while still providing cool sensations. My only complaint is that the Immelmann is a little jerky.
Inversions: 8/10
Trains
I am a huge fan of the cars on Untamed! They are themed to bears, and are extremely unique. The downside is that the cars have Over The Shoulder Restraints, which add a little bit to the roughness of the ride. Other than that, I think the train design is great!
Trains: 7/10
Smoothness
This ride is not very smooth. It is an aggressive ride. It isn't constant roughness, mostly just jerkiness, and this is exemplified by the Over The Shoulder Restraints. I believe this ride wouldn't feel as rough if the trains were different.
Smoothness: 5/10
Unique Elements
Untamed features both a vertical lift, and beyond-vertical drop. These are both very unique in general, but are the only ones of their kind in New England. They both provide a really cool experience that immensely adds to the ride!
Unique Elements: 9/10
Untamed is a great little coaster at Canobie. It provides great thrills in a small footprint, and is quite intense. I wish it was smoother, but it isn't too rough, which is a good thing. My final score for this ride is a 7/10.
