The Incredible Hulk Coaster- Review

Image
The Incredible Hulk Coaster is truly... Incredible . This one of a kind B&M Launch Coaster stands 110ft above the lagoon at Universal's Islands of Adventure. The ride originally opened with the park in 1999, but recently just reopened from a total rebuild. In this review, I will be going through different categories and rating the ride on a 1-10 scale.. Theming and Scenery The Hulk is themed to a science experiment led by    General Thaddeus Ross . It explains that the volunteers (riders) will be exposed to Gamma radiation, and become a Hulk. The queue has some detailed physical sets and a really  interesting CGI video. The launch tunnel is also enclosed inside of a Gamma Ray Gun of sorts, which looks really good from the outside. Also, every time a train launches, the roar of Hulk is played through a speaker outside the tunnel. The rides location over the lagoon does look amazing too! Queue/Off Ride Theming: 8/10 The ride vehicles are typical B&M Sitdown t

Universal Orlando: The Attractions of Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida is one of two parks currently operating at Universal Orlando Resort. The park is home to many themed areas, along with 4 roller coasters.. The first themed area is Production Central. This area is home to Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, Shrek-4D, Transformers: The Ride, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. photo credit to OrlandoInformer Shrek-4D is a motion simulator attraction, which brings riders on a journey with their favorite Shrek characters. It is a really fun attraction for all ages. Photo credit: OrlandoInformer Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is also a motion simulator, similar to Shrek. I've only ridden it once, and really don't like it. I found it to be quite boring. It's perfect for kids, though. Transformers is an indoor dark ride which utilizes the same ride system as  The Amazing Adventures Of Spiderman. It's an ok ride. I prefer Spiderman, as it flows better and has more physical sets. The building itself is an

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen is one of the newest restaurants at the Universal Orlando Resort.. The restaurant is themed to a Steampunk Chocolate Factory, complete with functioning smokestack atop the building, along with other moving props. The theme continues inside the building as well. The first area of the restaurant is actually the candy, dessert, and souvenir shop. There is a huge variety of freshly made chocolates, which can all be purchased per pound. Here is a look at the dessert cooler, featuring cupcakes. The dessert bar at the entrance There are many cool set pieces inside of Toothsomes. A window showing into where the desserts are made.  A very cool Steampunk light fixture  The restaurant has tons of seating. Here is some of the seating on the first level. Here is a look at the upper level seating For my meal, I got the Southern Fried Chicken BLT. I really enjoyed it. The chicken was crispy and the fries

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit- Review

Image
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a Maurer Sohne X-Car Music Coaster. It is located in the Production Central area of Universal Studios Florida. It utilizes a vertical lift hill, and has multiple mid-course brake runs for high capacity. I will be going through different categories and give a score of 1-10. I will share my final thoughts at the end. Theming The ride does not really have a theme other than making a music video. The queue video feels stale, and is insanely annoying to hear while waiting.  There is also no On Ride theming. Theming: 0/10 Trains The ride utilizes 7 X-Car Trains which seat 12 passengers each. The trains allow riders to choose their music, and the trains record each ride with a camera in front of the rider. These X-Car trains also have lights on the side, which look very nice as it goes through the course. The lap bar only restraints are also quite comfortable. Trains: 8/10 Smoothness This ride has not aged well. Since its opening in 20
