Green Lantern- Coaster Review

Image
Stand Up To Your Fears.  That is the tagline for Green Lantern, a B&M Stand-Up coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. This coaster opened in 1997 as Chang, at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.  The ride brings riders up 154 feet, and sends them flying down 144 feet into a 126 foot tall vertical loop. Riders experience 5 inversions on their 2 1/2 minute journey. In this review I will be going through different categories and scoring them 1-10. Then, at the end I will give my overall opinion of the ride. Theming- Green Lantern is themed to the DC Superhero of the same name. The queue line features storyboard which give the riders information and stories about Hal Jordan( Green Lantern). The station is themed to the Ferris Aircraft, and has a very nice look. The rides vertical loop is painted yellow, to represent Parallax, who is Green Lanterns enemy. The ride also features a cutout of this character. This ride has pretty good theming for a S

Ride Battle- Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom vs Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom

There are two parks in the Six Flags chain that have Strata Coasters. These parks are Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia California. Both of these Strata coasters have some of the worlds tallest drop towers attached directly on to them. Zumanjaro, the worlds tallest, is attached 415 feet up on Kingda Ka, the worlds tallest coaster. Lex Luthor is 400 feet tall and attached to Superman: Escape From Krypton. Both of these rides are insane, and very similar. I am going to go through different categories, some opinion based and some fact based, and compare them, and ultimately find out which one is the better attraction.   Height and Speed Zumanjaro is 415 feet tall and drops at speeds of  90 miles per hour. Lex Luthor is 400 feet tall and drops at speeds of 85 miles per hour Zumanjaro: 8/10 Lex Luthor: 7/10 Theming Zumajaro has an African theme. Its theme was inspired by the Safari Off Road Adventure attra

Full Throttle- Review

Image
You Only Live Once. That is the theme to this Premier Rides triple-launch coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. Full Throttle opened in 2013 with the World's Tallest Vertical Loop, and a top speed of 70 mph. The ride stands 160 feet tall, with a track length of 2,200 feet. I will be breaking this coaster up into categories, rating each category with a score of 1-10, and then finish off by giving my overall thoughts about this ride.   Theming- Full Throttle does not have much theming. Its overall theme is YOLO, (you only live once). The queue line features a monitor showing videos of people doing high energy, and very cool things. The ride features no on-ride theming. 0/10 Trains- Full Throttle operates with two of Premier Rides standard launch coaster trains, each with three cars each, fitting 18 riders per train. While the trains are a little cramped, they provide a smooth ride experience, and feature lap bar restraints. The trains feature

Bizarro- Review

Bizarro is a B&M Floorless roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Bizarro opened in 1999, under the name of Medusa. When it opened, it was the World's First Floorless Coaster. In 2009, the ride was rethemed to Bizarro, along with Superman at Six Flags New England. During this transformation, new special effects were added such as audio, fog, fire, lights, and fly-throughs. The audio was removed in 2013. The ride stands 142 feet tall and contains a 132 foot drop.  The ride has a top speed of 61 mph. This is a great and forceful ride. I will be giving the ride a score of 1-10 for each categories, and finish off with my overall score and opinion of the ride. Theming- Bizarro is themed to the DC comics villain, who shares the same name. The queue line features comic strip boards explaining the story of how Medusa became Bizarro. Throughout the ride, there are multiple fly-through and fly-over props. Also, the ride contains mist and fi

Six Flags Great Adventure- Trip Report

Image
This past Saturday, I took my first ever trip to Six Flags Great Adventure, located in Jackson, New Jersey. I really did not know what to expect from this park. I knew that they were known for their coaster collection. In here, I am going to share some pictures, and give a brief overview, and in the future, I will post Coaster Reviews for the coasters I rode. Pulling into the park was a very cool experience. The park is literally located in the middle of nowhere, and then out of the blue, you see Kingda Ka over the trees. Being a Saturday during Fright Fest, I planned for the park to be busy, So i purchased a Gold level Flash Pass. My first ride of the day was Kingda Ka. Kingda Ka is an Intamin Stratacoaster, and is the world's tallest roller coaster, It is also the fastest coaster in North America. A little bit of background about me. I consider myself to be pretty brave when it comes to thrill rides and coasters. When we pulled on to the launch track, I was nerv
