2017 Spring Plans!

Image
Amusement Parks season is about a week away here in New England, so I'm going to give you guys a little bit of insight as to where I'll be this spring. I will be visiting the following parks sometime during April or May! Definitely Visiting Six Flags New England- Will definitely be there on opening day, which is April 8, 2017! Lake Compounce- Will definitely be there sometime during opening weekend, which is May 6&7, 2017! Probably Visiting  Six Flags Great Adventure- Will probably be there during the week of April 10th for their Spring Break Event, where the park is open weekdays! Hersheypark- There is a chance I'll be visiting this park for the first time on April 9th! Quassy- I'll most likely be able to get out to Quassy during May. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to Wooden Warrior Day on May 6th.

#Throwback Thursday- Wicked Cyclone Media Day

Image
Here's a report on something I attended two years ago! I know what you are thinking, and YES, it really has been two years since Wicked Cyclone opened! I was lucky enough to attend the event as an ACE Member, and it was spectacular! The event had everything you could ever want! It was like North End ERT!  Now on to some photos! The day started off at the front gate, similar to the start of every Six Flags visit, but this was no typical visit! Once they opened the gate, we were directed towards the North End! The park had these really cool street performers out and about! The ride was all decorated with its Blue and Orange balloons! The park even gave out Friendly's Sundae Cups! Here is the entrance to the ride! We were all led into the queue, which had been opened up to accommodate all of us! This is where a few presentations/speeches occurred. You were able to see all the detail that was put into theming this ride! Here's more

#Transformation Tuesday- Superman The Ride

Image
Superman The Ride is probably the most ICONIC ride at Six Flags New England. This 208ft Intamin Hyper Coaster has been hurdling riders at 77 miles per hour for 17 years now! That being said, Superman The Ride has had multiple changes throughout its life. Credit to: Ultimate Roller Coaster When the coaster opened in 2000, it was called Superman: Ride of Steel. The coaster ran with two Intamin trains, each holding 36 riders, securing them with an Intamin T-Bar restraint.  This coaster was the definition of "Amazing".  From 2000 to 2008, Superman:Ride of Steel had a few changes done, but virtually remained the same attraction until 2009. In 2009, Six Flags New England opened Bizarro. Bizarro was a re themed Superman:Ride of Steel. In an attempt to make the "World's Best Steel Coaster" even better, the park replaced the trains. The new trains held 34 people each, and secured them with a new U-bar restraint. The trains also included On-Board speake

Lake Compounce Construction Tour

On March 26th, we were able to go on a construction tour at Lake Compounce, in Bristol, Connecticut! This tour was showcasing the progress on all of the many improvements that the park is making for the 2017 season! Before I go any further, I want to thank Jerry Brick at Lake Compounce and ACE New England! Now onto the tour! I'm going to go by project, as it will help the flow of this article! The American Flyers The parks Flying Scooter attraction is getting a new look! The tubs are painted and awaiting wraps, while the center will be painted later on! I think they look FANTASTIC! The ride will definitely have a refreshed look this season, and the tubs will look even better once they're wrapped! Sweet Shoppe The Sweet Shoppe is getting remodeled! The classic candy store has received many upgrades, including new decor, color changing lights, and a Pretzel/Apple dipping station, where they will be dipped fresh! The new colors and signage look g
