A Visit to Six Flags Over Georgia
On August 7th I had the pleasure of visiting Six Flags Over Georgia for the first time! I had heard many good things about this park regarding rides, operations, landscaping, and more, so I was excited to see how it stacked up to other parks in the chain that I have visited. Below are some photos of the most noteworthy attractions and areas of Six Flags Over Georgia!
Georgia Scorcher is the parks B&M Stand Up coaster, and it was great! It's actually the newest stand up coaster to be built, but is most similar to the early designs, staying low to the ground with only two inversions. The ride was smooth, forceful, and just a whole lot of fun. It was also sporting a bright new paint job, which looked great near the front of the park.
----
Goliath is Six Flags Over Georgia's B&M Hyper. While the name may be overused by Six Flags, this layout is absolutely unique to this park. The coaster travels outside the park and over a road, and provides a long ride time! The ride is also extremely smooth and provides great forces in the upward helix.

Gotham City at Six Flags Over Georgia was great! This area is home to a BATMAN:The Ride B&M Invert, a HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity Tilt-a-Whirl, a JOKER Chaos Coaster Super Loop, a Crime Wave Swinger, and my favorite in the area, Mindbender, a Schwarzkopf Looping Coaster. This area had some really cool and funky theming that I have not seen much of in the Six Flags chain.
Mindbender was incredible! This classic ride was smooth, extremely forceful, and has a wonderful location through the trees! This is absolutely one of the top 5 attractions in the park.
BATMAN: The Ride was probably my favorite clone of it that I have ridden. It was very smooth compared to the other models, and felt more forceful!
----
Dare Devil Dive is the parks Gerstlauer Eurofighter, and it was a great ride. It was not very intense at all, but had some unique elements such as the Immelmann turn and beyond vertical drop. Other than that, the ride didn't stand out too much, but was a fun coaster.
----
SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight is the parks B&M Flying Coaster, and was an incredible ride. While I have ridden the same layout at Six Flags Great Adventure, this one was unique as it was built into its terrain complete with tunnels and low to the ground turns. These unique elements made the ride even better than the clone at Great Adventure. Unfortunately, they were only running one train, and the crew was moving at a very slow pace.
----
Blue Hawk is the parks Vekoma Looping Coaster. This was my second favorite ride in the park. Formerly known as Ninja, SFOG put a ton of money into it a few seasons ago and added new trains with soft vest restraints, new paint, and track work. The end result is a smooth, forceful ride, with some ridiculous elements. I absolutely loved this ride, and re-rode it multiple times!
----
The parks DC SUPER FRIENDS area was very nice, and had some great family attractions including a set of Larson Flyers, and JOKER Funhouse Coaster, which is a unique family coaster from Chance rides. This area is unique as its the first of its kind themed to DC Super Friends!
----
Monster Mansion is the parks water based dark ride, and it is phenomenal! The ride is perfect for families, and is stocked full of great animatronic show scenes, which was very refreshing considering all of the screen based dark rides which have been added to parks recently. The ride had a great mix a humor with a little bit of haunted house spookiness, and a whole lot of charm! This is definitely a must ride!
----
Great American Scream Machine is the parks wooden coaster, and it was not great. The ride was overly rough and the trains seemed as if they needed some work. It was one and done for me.
----
The parks new Screampunk District is home to the new Pandemonium pendulum ride. These rides are awesome, and the park looked to be running a good cycle on theirs. Unfortunately, the rest of the area is a cheap overlay on western theming, and does not look great. Hopefully the park is able to update the theming in the future to make it look more cohesive and "steampunk."
----
Twisted Cyclone is the parks RMC Hybrid, and its a great ride! Full of airtime and twists, this ride is perfect for any thrill seeker. For me, it seemed like one of the less intense RMCs, but it still provided a great experience in its short layout, including a super funky "Reverse Cobra Roll"!

One of the worlds most insane drop towers... Enough Said... Just need to experience it yourself.

Six Flags Over Georgia definitely met my expectations, and even surpassed them in some ways. The park was beautifully landscaped, many of the attractions had decent operations, and the ride lineup was great! A few negatives were that the park decided to close ride lines before the park closing time, which was a shame because the park was already scheduled to close at 5, giving a short visit. Furthermore, some of the ride crews were very slow and inefficient, like SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight.
All in all, I did enjoy the park, and would definitely return if I have the chance!
Thanks for reading!
How forceful was the ride buddy????
