Busch Gardens Williamsburg Photos and Thoughts
Recently, I Took a trip down to Virginia! One of the parks I visited was Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
In this post, I'll be sharing photos from my trip, along with giving my opinion of the attractions I experienced.
Tempesto
Tempesto is the parks newest steel roller coaster! This coaster is a Premier Rides SkyRocket II model, except it has 3 cars to the train compared to the standard model which only has 2 cars. This model also has a different restraint system. I found the ride to be fun, but nothing to write home about.
Verbolten
Verbolten was probably the biggest surprise on this trip! I didn't know much about this ride except that it down towards the river, like its predecessor, Big Bad Wolf. I was shocked at how thrilling and fun the inside section of the ride was. It reminded me of a more intense version of Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Orlando. The theming in the queue was really immersive, and the entire experience was great!
InvadR
InvadR is the parks only wooden coaster! Opening in 2017, This GCI family coaster packs a huge punch! I thought this ride was awesome. It used its terrain really well, and was insanely smooth for a wooden coaster! I also thought it was awesome how they reused the trains from Busch Gardens Tampa's Gwazi.
Alpengeist
This has to be my favorite coaster at the park. For an inverted coaster, it is shockingly HUGE, and absolutely rips its way through the first half, and its very smooth! Unfortunately, the ride SLAMMED to a stop on the midcourse brake run all day, almost painfully quick, and this killed the momentum for the second half of the ride. I'd love to come back and see how it runs with the midcourse not hitting as hard.
Griffon
Griffon is the parks Dive Coaster! This is only my second Dive Coaster, and it was great! The drop was great, just like SheiKra, and the addition of a second Immelmann loop made the ride feel complete.
The Lochness Monster
Lochness Monster is the park's classic Arrow Looping Coaster. This ride has a beautiful location over the water near the front of the park. This ride was really fun, and it's pretty smooth for an Arrow Coaster, which are usually known for their roughness.
Apollo's Chariot
Apollo's Chariot is the park's B&M Hyper Coaster, and it did not disappoint! This ride had a great drop, and some good floater airtime moments! It does a lot with it's simple Out and Back Layout, and was a capacity monster with three trains on the track.

I absolutely loved this park. The atmosphere was incredibly immersive, leaving me to feel as if I was actually visiting countries in Europe. One thing I loved about this park was how well rounded it was, and every area pairs a major, thrilling attraction with some family attractions. The parks layout was a hilly, yet easy to follow circle, meaning you could always find your way around. The leaves were a little bare, but I can only imagine what the park looks like when all the tress have filled in.
I thought that the coaster lineup at Buch Gardens Williamsburg was pretty strong and well rounded. I do feel that with one more thrilling coaster, the park would improve immensely. Rumor has it a new coaster will be coming to the park in 2020, so this could be a monumental addition for Busch Gardens.
