Gotham City at SFNE?
Everybody knows that Six Flags New England is introducing The Joker 4D Free Fly Coaster in 2017.. But other than that, not much else is known about the project, whereas SFOT and SFGA have both released concept art for their installations. Maybe there is a reason for this. Here is a little info about 2008 at Six Flags New England. The park was supposed to get The Dark Knight Coaster, but that never happened due to permit issues. But this same season, the park moved their Wave Swinger to the South End and retimed it to Crime Wave. When they did this, they also added Gotham style building down in that area, such as the restrooms and Works restaurant. The park was ( supposedly) turning the South End into Gotham City. For some reason, the official change never happened, leaving this area with Batman, Crime Wave, and these buildings unthemed. Well, after drone photos from DylanBizarro were taken, which showed that the entrance to The Joker would be located adjacent to Crime Wave, a Gotham City expansion was my first thought.
Shown in these two photos are the restrooms and Works buildings, both of which used the Gotham City style architecture.
These two photos revealed that The Jokers entrance would be located in this area. A gift shop sized building is being constructed directly across.
To give an idea of what this could look like, I created this rendering. Guests would enter in this general area.
If this Gotham City expansion does happen, I predict it will start either at Mind Erasers entrance, and the ride would be rethemed. Following the VR/ New Train rumors, I could see the park adding a Riddler Theme to Mind Eraser.
This is an overview of what Six Flags New England's Gotham City would cover!
What do you think?
