Carowinds Visit
After dealing with a broken ankle all of June and July, in August I was able to make a visit to a few parks down south, the first being Carowinds.
Something Interesting about this park is that it is partially in North Carolina, and partially in South Carolina. The park is home to 14 roller coasters, including Fury 325, Intimidator, and the all new Copperhead Strike!
Copperhead Strike is the parks newest coaster, a Mack Family multi-launch.
This ride was great! Super smooth, had great airtime, and really packed a punch in its layout. The ride was a lot longer than I was expecting, and had some pretty good theming!
Fury 325 is the parks B&M Giga Coaster, and it is absolutely incredible. The first drop is absolutely breathtaking, and the ride provides some great airtime, both ejector and floater, along with a very long layout.
Intimidator is the parks B&M Hyper coaster. This ride was super underwhelming to me. Its layout looks great, with many airtime hills and turns, but unfortunately the ride is trimmed and kept very mild. Towards the front of the train, the experience was better, but it was still not great.
Firehawk is the parks Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and it can be described in one word: TRASH. This thing was shaky beyond belief and just terrible.
Afterburn is the parks B&M Inverted coaster. This ride is GREAT! The ride is incredibly forceful, and has some great inversions!
Kiddy Hawk is the parks Vekoma Family Suspended Coaster. This ride was fun, but nothing special.
Vortex is a B&M Stand Up Coaster. I actually found it pretty smooth and a lot of fun.
Below Vortex is the parks Arrow Dynamics Mine Train, which was a fun little ride.
Georgia Cyclone is an Arrow Dynamics LoopScrew, which was super fun! Nothing special, but it was pretty smooth and enjoyable.
Below are just some various photos from around the park.
Thanks for checking out my Carowinds Pictures!
