California's Great America

On June 28th, 2018, I visited California's Great America in Santa Clara, California. I did not expect much from this park, just a simple regional amusement park with a few good coasters. I was really surprised by my experience and had a great day here!

Let's Get on to The Rides!
The star of the park is Railblazer, a Rocky Mountain Construction Raptor model! This was my 150th coaster credit, and it did not disappoint! Railblazer was fast, smooth, and full of absolutely relentless ejector airtime. The elements come at you so quick! The rock work theming really brought the ride to the next level with its interactions. I cannot wait to see more RMC Raptors pop up at other parks!

----
Gold Striker is the parks GCI Wooden Coaster. I had heard amazing things about this ride, but was actually a little bit let down. Don't get me wrong, it is a great coaster, but it was not as relentless as I had heard, and kind of meandered around at the end. Still, this was a very fun coaster, and I loved the tunnels and hand choppers on the ride!

Patriot is the parks B&M Floorless coaster. Patriot was formerly a Stand-Up Coaster called Vortex, but was converted to a Floorless in 2017. This coaster was really fun! There was nothing groundbreaking about it, but it was a nice layout and the color scheme really looks great! The ride had a little bit of head banging, but nothing unbearable.

----
The Demon is California's Great America's Arrow Dynamics Looping Coaster and I had a blast on it! Sure, it was a little rough, but I absolutely love classic Arrow coasters, and this one was no different!

Mad Mouse is an Arrow Dynamics Wild Mouse! This is one of only a few Arrow Wild Mice out there, so it was really cool to ride. As for the experience, it was a Wild Mouse. Typical layout and nothing special, but it was a fun ride! The downside was that the operations on this coaster were really slow.

The Grizzly is the parks other wooden coaster, and it was absolutely terrible. It was not rough at all, but it is by far the most boring roller coaster I have ever been on. There was no airtime, and barely any forces exerted on to the riders. I would love to see the park contact Rocky Mountain Construction and convert this into a Steel Hybrid, because it is awful the way it currently stands.

Flight Deck is a B&M Inverted Coaster, and was a BLAST! This ride is everything an invert should be! It's fast, smooth, and snappy! The rides setting is also awesome, with the finale located near a lake!

---
The park also had a great assortment of flat rides!

----
The park also had this awesome Simulator Attraction, which mixes screens, 4D Seats, and live actors! I found this really unique and it was a great way to cool down for a little while.

Thanks for reading!
