Canobie Lake Park: Report and Photos

On Sunday, July 23rd, I took my first ever visit to Canobie Lake Park. This park is located in Salem, New Hampshire. The park is home to four coasters, along with many great flat rides!
Before I get into the rides, I just want to mention how clean the park was. Not once did I notice trash on the ground, and the bathrooms were impeccable! The park also had tons of seating and shade, which was great for those who were waiting for people on the rides. The park is also full of unique charm, as you can see by the popcorn stand. It looks straight out of Roller Coaster Tycoon!

Turkish Twist

Let's get started on the rides with Turkish Twist. This is a rotor style flat ride. These are some of my favorite flat rides, and they're quite rare. This one was a ton of fun, and it's always a thrilling moment when the floor drops.
It was quite a dizzying experience!

Psycho-Drome

Psycho-Drome is an indoor Scrambler. This was a ton of fun. The already dizzying experience of a scrambler is intensified by pounding music and strobe lights. The ride cycle was fast and long, without being sickening. Great Ride! By far my favorite Scrambler!

Boston Tea Party

Boston Tea Party is a great Shoot the Chutes ride, and it creates a huge splash. The ride got me pretty wet, but standing on the bridge after the ride, waiting for another boat, got me absolutely soaked! Perfect for a hot day! The old Boston themed area around the ride was also very nice!

Wipeout

Wipeout was a standard Chance Wipeout with a great cycle! Perfect speed with great forces and some air time! The surfer theme was pretty cool, and made the ride unique!

Starblaster

Starblaster is the parks S&S Launch Tower. While it is a shorter model, it makes up for the height with some great airtime, and an entertaining launch sequence!

Mine Of Lost Souls

The Mine of Lost Souls was a perfectly cheesy dark ride. It was entertaining, and seemed like a classic. The second half reminded me of a scaled down Revenge of the Mummy! Really fun and entertaining!

A Look At Other Rides
Davinci's Dream is a classic Wave Swinger near the lake

Xtreme Frisbee is a Huss Frisbee. Unfortunately it was closed during my trip

A set of Flying Scooters themed to Roosters!

Another water ride! The park has plenty of attractions to beat the heat!

A very nice looking Pirate Ship!

The park also has a Log Ride Flume!

The Coasters of Canobie

Untamed
Untamed is the only Gerstlauer Eurofighter in New England.

The ride is 72 feet tall with a vertical lift hill, and drops riders 97 degrees! This ride packs a punch, and is extremely forceful. The three inversions are great! My only complaint is the ride is a little bit jerky in the transitions.
The paint and cars look very nice, and fit the wilderness theme very well

Yankee Cannonball
Yankee Cannonball is a very fun, classic woody that's perfect for everybody!

The ride was very smooth, and the buzz bar restraints allow for great airtime. I know one of our readers, Kevin, inspects the track before opening... keep up the great work Kevin and the rest of the Canobie maintenance team, as this ride runs great!

The coaster is hard to photograph from the park, so here it is from the parking lot.

Canobie Corkscrew
Canobie Corkscrew is the parks Arrow Dynamics Corkscrew Coaster.
The ride was fun, and surprisingly smooth! Love how the park has this classic coaster running and looking great!
Here's a photo of Corkscrew speeding down the first drop!

My day at Canobie was great! As long as this park keeps doing what they're doing, it will remain great! Can't wait for my next visit!
