Six Flags New England- 5 Year Plan

So, it is the off season. No trip reports to post, no new rides to review, and no new photos to post.
I was trying to decide what to post during this time of the year, and decided to use some creativity. So today is the first New England Park 5 Year Plan.
Purely for fun, I'll be making a realistic 5 year plan for the parks of New England, starting with Six Flags New England.

In the past five years, SFNE has added
  • Bonzai Pipelines, a drop capsule slide tower-2013
  • New England SkyScreamer, a 400+ ft tall Funtime Starflyer-2014
  • Wicked Cyclone, an RMC Hybrid- 2015
  • Fireball, a Larson Superloop,Rock n Rodeo,SBF Traffic Jam & Superman The Ride retheme- 2016
  • The Joker, an S&S Free Spin-2017
So my predictions will be based off of these previous additions, along with additions at other parks in the Six Flags chain.

  • 2018- I predict the park will opt for an addition to their Hurrican Harbor waterpark. The last addition was Bonzai Pipelines in 2013, and some of the current slides are aging. I predict that the park will remove the Swiss Family Tobaggan family raft ride. This could be replaced with a new higher capacity raft ride, maybe a Pro-Slide bowl. I could also see the park adding a gimmick to an existing slide, such as adding lights to the inside of an enclosed slide. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is adding a Pro-Slide water coaster, and I could see Six Flags choosing to work with the company more.

  • 2019- I think the park will add a flat ride package from Zamperla, similar to Six Flags Over Texas' addition in 2015. While the park has improved in many ways, they are still lacking in flat rides, and this could be perfect for the park. I'm predicting that they will receive a Zamperla Endeavor themed to Nightwing in Joker Wildcard's pad down in the DC area. A prototype Giant Air Race/ Air Race XL would be a great addition to the former Spider Location, which is near Mind Eraser in the South End. It would be a great location as it would overlook the DC Area. Finally I could see a family friendly flat ride, such as a Disko located in the North End. I also think the park will also choose to retire Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum.

  • 2020- Superman The Ride 20th Anniversary- I think that Six Flags New England has a great coaster in their property, but I also believe that they know how it's aged. I think the park will Finally get trains that track the ride better, and are not as heavy as the current trains. Ride of Steel at Darien Lake recently got a new train from Intamin, and I have heard that it provides a better ride. Yes, I know the park recently rethemed the ride, but the train improvements were not drastic. I think the park will want to improve the ride and bring even more guests in. This would be more of an off year other than the new trains.

  • 2021- A likely choice would be the addition of a Justice League: Battle for Metropolis 3D shooting dark ride from Sally. The Six Flags chain has been adding these to a lot of parks, and they are great rides, and one type of ride that SFNE does not currently have. The parks only dark ride is Houdini, a Vekoma Madhouse. This would go in the spot of the former Gotham City Gauntlet, and would possibly use the current Johnny Rockets Building as an all new facade and queue building. *Possible* removal of Flashback. This is an aging ride, and within the past few seasons, has seemed to have a few maintnence issues. By this time, I think it will go.

  • 2022- New Family Thrill Coaster. By 2022, the park would not have received a coaster since 2017, which is five years. By this time, one of the parks family coasters, Gotham City Gauntlet, would've been removed. I could see the park adding this new coaster in Crackaxle Canyon, possibly moving the sign and maitnence shop elsewhere, or the former Flashback location. The coaster that I could personally see being added is something along the lines of an S&S El Loco. The Six Flags chain has been working a lot with S&S recently for the Free Spin coasters, and these could fit pretty much anywhere. The El Loco coaster would provide a few inversions while staying in the 48" height requirement that Flashback had. This would allow it to provide a new first "Big" coaster for those not yet ready for Wicked Cyclone or Superman.

So, these are my predictions for Six Flags New England for the next five years. Have any comments or possibly a prediction of your own? Let me lnow!
