Disney California Adventure!
On June 26th, we visited Disney California Adventure, which is one of two Disney Parks located in Anahiem, CA. This park feels more directed towards teens and adults, compared to Disneyland. The park is home to eight heavily themed lands, with many of them containing amazing E ticket rides!
Without further ado, lets get into the park!
Grizzly Peak
Grizzly Peak is an area themed to the National Parks and Wilderness throughout California. This area is home to two amazing attractions, Soarin' Around The World and Grizzly River Run.
Soarin' Around The World is a Flying Theater attraction. The ride is housed inside a heavily themed airplane hanger, with tons of California and flying themes, making it extremely immersive. The ride itself is great! The motions are extremely fluid, and you really do feel as if you are flying! Soarin' is definitely my absolute favorite motion simulators!
Grizzly River Run is the parks River Rapids ride. The theming of this ride is insane, and really does remind me of my white water rafting experiences. The ride is also extremely long, which was a great surprise! I rode at night, which made the ride insane, and even more unpredictable. Grizzly River Run is by far my favorite River Rapids style ride!
Buena Vista Street/ Hollywood Land
Buena Vista Street is the "Main Street" of Disney California Adventure. The street has scale versions of many famous locations in Hollywood!
Hollywood Land is home to Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, formerly Tower of Terror, along with Monsters Inc: Mike and Sully to the Rescue!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout was absolutely amazing. I was a little torn when I heard about the retime, because I absolutely love the Twilight Zone theming at Walt Disney World, but am also a huge fan of the Guardians franchise! Well, this ride totally blew my expectations, as it was extremely immersive, the drops were intense, and the soundtrack was killer! This was one of my favorite rides at the park, and much better than expected!
Monsters, Inc: Mike & Sully To The Rescue was a really fun dark ride! It was nothing spectacular, but a really fun way to escape the heat, and stayed true to the movie, which I loved!
Cars Land
Cars Land is by far the best themed and most immersive theme park area I have ever stepped foot in. The way it was done, you are surrounded by rock, and its very hard to see outside of the area, which I really loved! The area itself is home to three attractions, all very well themed. I only experienced one attraction in this area, Radiator Springs Racers, which I will get into below!
These photos do not do it justice, as the land is just breathtaking!
Radiator Springs Racers is my all time favorite dark ride. By using the Test Track ride system along with the iconic Cars theme, the ride is killer! The animatronics are some of Disney's best, and the racing scenes through Radiator Springs are breathtaking. No videos could set me up for how amazing this attraction was going to be, and it ended up being one of my favorites at the park!
Pacific Wharf
While there were no rides, I really appreciated the theming of the quaint, Pacific Wharf area of the park!
Paradise Gardens Park
Located adjacent to Pixar Pier is Paradise Gardens Park. Originally part of Paradise Pier, this area was renamed when Pixar Pier opened. Paradise Gardens Park is home to Goofy's Sky School, The Golden Zephyr, The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Silly Symphony Swings, and Jumpin' Jellyfish.
The only attraction that I rode in this area was Goofy's Sky School. This is a typical Wild Mouse Coaster. It was fun, but nothing to write home about.
Pixar Pier
Pixar Pier opened three days prior to my trip, so it was the area that I was most looking forward to. I absolutely loved it. It gave off the vibe of a beach boardwalk, but the addition of Pixar properties really made the experience more magical! At night, the pier is breathtaking, with everything having amazing light packages!
The Incredicoaster was my favorite attraction in the park. Formerly California Screamin, this coaster had been on my bucket list since I saw it on Disney Channel as a kid, and it sure did not disappoint. The launch is great, and pretty forceful, and the layout is long! The on-ride audio really brings the coaster to the next level, and the Incredibles theming really added a level of fun to the ride. The effects looked amazing at night, and really made this ride a 10/10!
Pixar Pal-a-Round, formerly Mickey's Fun Wheel, is one of those insane swinging "Coaster Wheels". I loved this thing! It provided great views of the entire park, and looked beautiful at night!
I loved all the Easter eggs throughout the area, and thought everything was very well done!
Thanks For Reading! I hope you enjoyed my Disney California Adventure photos!
